Residents can dispose of yard waste free of charge on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Barnes Yard Waste Recovery Center on Camp Road in Huron Township. Hours of operation will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29 and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30.
This fall event has been coordinated to coincide with the City of Sandusky drop off event at Barnes Nursery. Residents should identify that waste is being hauled from Perkins Township so proper tracking can be done for the event.
Any questions can be directed to the Perkins Township Highway Department at 419-609-1433 or by email at highway@perkinstownshp.com.

Barnes and the township also offer residents the ability to drop leaves at the Yard Waste Recovery Center free of charge year-round. Leaves have to be clean of all other yard waste.
Fall is coming quickly. We look forward to helping landowners clear those leaves again this year. Crews wil begin random pickup throughout the township during the week of October 24, 2011.
Residents are reminded that leaves should be placed along the roadside, but not in the street or gutter to insure drainage is not affected. Material should be leaves only, free of other plant material, sticks, and other debris.
The Perkins Township Highway Department performs leaf collection in the Fall from late October to early December each year. Residents should watch the website and local paper for updates on this collection program.
