The Perkins Township Highway Department is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of township roadways, parks and cemetery. Our staff strives to deliver services in a professional, efficient manner.
With eight full-time and four seasonal employees, the department maintains over 40 miles of roadway, 60 acres of parks and the Perkins Township Cemetery. Some of these maintenance responsibilities are snow and ice removal, street sweeping, street and curb repair, drainage, leaf removal, tree trimming, street sign maintenance, mowing and landscape maintenance.
Employees within the department demonstrate a commitment to better service by participating in continuing education such as the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) through the Ohio Department of Transportation. The purpose of the LTAP is to train local government personnel in the latest, state-of-the-art technologies in the areas of roads, bridges, safety, regulations and transportation.
